Vibrant Days… Flourishing with Sensory Processing Sensitivity
Dear sensitive souls in Spring,
I was on my way home from an errand this morning and spotted the words Nature Center on a sign. I pulled into the parking lot bundled up and headed towards the trail marker. Within 2 minutes I knew I made a wonderful choice. My spinning thoughts were replaced by the sound of swirling winds, migrating birds and the scent of spring flowers. As I walked the weight of thinking lightened and I felt my steps bordering on skipping.
I have a vision of every highly sensitive person (somehow) gathering in a beautiful non-overwhelming setting. I see us pausing to gather our inner selves and then turning to the side to look into each other’s faces. It’s here I would ask that each of us tell the other what we most need this season. I would tell the one beside to get into nature each day, keep their minds open to the sacred and don’t over isolate. So today as I sit under my blanket listening to the birds and feeling light-hearted I offer my best to you and look forward to our paths crossing.

What I’m pondering:
Serious Things
Some may think it’s silly that I write so much about
the garden’s colors and the bird’s songs. Or about
ocean foam and warm sunshowers. But I don’t care
about such thoughts because it’s within these pure
and delicate things that I find rest for an itching
mind.
There in the soft morning light, the rain on the sill,
and the dog’s gentle sigh, is where I remember to
be. Yes, be. Be patient. Be curious. Be right where I
am, and no place else.
Nature never hurries and though I am the human
kind, I am nature, nonetheless. So I study these very
simple and serious things, and take note. I let them
in, so that I may feel the ground beneath my feet,
and redress my mind in robes of ease.
